Course abstract

The aim of the study course is to give theoretical and practical knowledges, skills and competence about possibilities to use information and communication technologies in the career counselling sector.
Students learn how to organize career guidance more effectively using online tools.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• knowledge and understanding about the various possibilities of using and integrating IT in career counseling, critical evaluation of IT – test work;
• skills to analyse and to evaluate relevant information important for practical activities, applying knowledge in order to perform the necessary works – practical works;

• competence to evaluate and use the acquired knowledge and skills in career counselling activities – independent works.

Course Content(Calendar)

1. Use of IT in career counselling and support (3 h).
2. Electronic counselling for career counsellors (2 h).
3. Remote online support (3 h).
4. Online tools – presentation skills as career advancement (3 h).
5. Presentation of professions – online tools using (3h).
6. Infographic. Creating an interactive poster (5h).
7. Electronic communication with potential employers (2 h).
8. Infographic. Modern CV (2 h).
9. Creating an interactive informative video (8 h).
Test work (1 h).

Requirements for awarding credit points

80% lecture attendance, successful assessment of the test and independent works. All works of the practical and independent works must be passed.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Literature studies to pass the test.
1. independent work Creation of presentation material (at least 15 slides, to be submitted electronically);
2. independent work Video creation (duration of at least 15 minutes, to be submitted electronically).

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

The assessment of the study course test mark depends on the cumulative evaluation of the independent and test works. The mark is the arithmetic mean among an independent and test works assessment.
