Course abstract

Qualification paper is state examination by the ending of studies. In the qualification work students evaluated its ability to carry out theoretical and empirical studies and their professional teaching background to obtain qualification. It is a pedagogy, psychology based study knowledge related with professional education learning in the latest pedagogical problems.
In the qualifications paper students develop and demonstrate the skills of research work. The work includes pedagogical problem and theoretical substantiation of the possible solution, the discription of the methodical solution and pedagogical empirical investigation in witch the situation of the researched problem is stated and evaluated in relation to the offered methodical solution.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

•knowledge - and understanding of professional education issues, development trends, are able theoretical knowledge combine with empirical reaserch and practical problem solving skils of research stated methodological part;
•skills - able to chose research topics, professional aspect of education, can establish goals and targets, have ability to carry out theoretical and empirical studies and describe it, able to solve in the methodical part included problem, formulate conclusions, know how to demonstrate their teaching skills and to present it;
•competence - able to use acquired knowledges in practical operations with demonstrating ability to carry out theoretical and empirical research in pedagogy, able to present the results obtained.

Course Content(Calendar)

1. Identification of topical topics in terms of vocational training, selection of the subject of the study, consultation with the head of work.
2. Formulating, harmonising, headline, target, study issues, job tasks.
3. Establishment of a study plan, selection of theoretical and empirical research methods.
4. Identification and evaluation of the sources of literature in relation to the selected topic of qualification.
5. Studies of literary sources according to the topics of work.
6. Analysis, synthesis, evaluation of theoretical knowledge.
7. Formulating key theoretical knowledge, synthesis with the development of a methodical part of the qualification work.
8. Study of methodological issues in the context of the problem to be investigated.
9. Reflection of pedagogical experience in dealing with the methodological part of the work.
10. Clarification of study methods.
11. Detection study with measurements, data collection and mathematical processing.
12. Analytical description of the course and results of the empirical study.
13. Analysis, synthesis, evaluation of empirical findings. Formulating conclusions according to the subject matter of the study and the tasks of the work.
14. Pre-replacement of work. Complete job design.
15. Preparation of defending speech and visual material.
16. Defending and presenting a qualification to the State Final Review Commission.

Requirements for awarding credit points

8KP, an independent study of the student regarding a current pedagogical or psychological problem in relation to vocational education. The amount in the workbook is indicative for pages 40-50 without the annexes. The work includes theoretical, methodical and empirical parts that are interrelated. Several dozen Latvian sources of literature, at least 10 sources in two foreign languages, WWW sources. Successful presentation and defence of the qualification work to the State Final Tests Commission. National closing test.

An updated LLUIS and two copies of the qualification work, a presentation prepared.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

Compliance with all rules and requirements for the development of work, including work.
Timely designed and pre-superseded, uploaded LLUIS and printed, qualified work submitted in duplicate.
Presentation of the qualification work prepared.
Qualification work defended in the presence of the Commission.
