Course abstract

Study course provides theoretical knowledge and practical skills in preschool educational programs content and implementation methodologies. During the course of study students make electronic dictionary of the frequently used preschool pedagogical concepts and prepare presentations on selected topics, demonstrating their understanding, the capacity to analyze, synthesize and evaluate various outstanding teachers' knowledge.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• knowledge - understanding of the basic concepts of preschool pedagogy, early childhood education content of the program, child-centered approach to early childhood education program content in the realization of child physical, mental and social development of a variety of preschool educational programs and preschool methodology- an independent work;
• skills - able to analyze, compare and evaluate the pre-school of the pedagogical process principles: humanism, visibility and continuity, understands the importance of various pedagogical approaches of learning organization, skills to theoretically evaluate the learning environment, ability to use different methodologies applied child physical, mental and social development, including information technology resources preparing presentations- an independent work;
• competence - able to assess preschool of educational content and learning methodology important role in the process, is able to integrate the chosen methodology in the field; able to speak in front of an audience and present the presentation- an independent work.

1. Opportunities and realization of child-centered environment in pre-school.
2. Tasks of pre-school education content.
3. Implementing the content of pre-school education in a holistic way, promoting the versatile development of the child in the intended fields.
4. Principles of organizing the pedagogical process of pre-school education program.
5. Acquiring the content of pre-school education in the curriculum areas or in integrated subjects.
6. Play as the main activity of the child in kindergarten.
7. Methodology of speech development. Prerequisites for child speech development.
8. Writing methodology. Hand preparation for writing.
9. Methodology of singing and teaching music.
10. Methodology of Painting and Painting.
11. Methodology for working with paper and cardboard.
12. Handcrafts and their teaching methodology. Methodology for working with textiles.
13. Methodology for working with natural and artificial materials.
14. Methods of familiarizing children with nature and social life.
15. Competence-based education.

Requirements for awarding credit points

80% lecture attendance, successful evaluation of the independent works and practical works.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Independent work - study work on children's rights and duties (volume 2 pages, submitted electronically).
Independent work - a job is presented for acquisition of pre-school education at a particular age, in 3 areas chosen by the student.
Independent work - prepared presentation in pre-school education methodology.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

Independent works have been successfully completed and sent in due time. A study paper on children's rights has been prepared and submitted in accordance with the requirements.
