Course abstract

The course of study gives knowledge about textile fibres, their classification and basic qualities. The students familiarize with the production of yarn. It gives the impression of the fabric of obtaining technology. Provide opportunities for textile dying at home. The course gives wide practical skills in dye batik. View in wax batik. Particular attention is paid to students‘ creative development, understanding of active reproduction of an innovative solution in dye batik. The acquired theoretical course and laboratory works promote to organize Home Economics at school within textile themes.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge and understanding about classification of textile fibres, basic qualities of fibres, yarn manufacturing, fabric production technology and technological measures of dying. Skills to analyse, to compare and to evaluate the diversity of textile according to their requirements. To analyse and to evaluate yarn and fabric of mutual technological connections.
• Skills to choose colors according to the material. Skills to dye textile according to technologies of decoration.
• Competence – able to evaluate textile according to their requirements and nowadays technologies. Able to make decisions in the textile technology implementation. Able to develop creative artistic work. Able to make decisions in the technology of classical painting, dyeing and wax batik. Able to organize Home Economics at school within the textile technology themes.
