Course abstract

Students develop and assess knowledge and skills on: conceptions and development of didactics from Renaissance to nowadays in Europe and USA, its relation to other sciences, didactical approaches, theories, models and categories: teaching and learning, aims, methods, knowledge, skills, competencies, evaluation/assessment, teaching and learning styles, teaching/learning organisational forms and environment. The students develop skills of performing in front of the audience and usage of visual and technical aids. The teacher's functions and a role, and pupils are assessed in the course.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge: to comprehend, analyse and assess theories and conceptions on: conceptions and development of didactics from Renaissance to nowadays in Europe and USA, its relation to other sciences, didactical approaches, theories, models and categories; usage of teaching aids; the teacher’s functions and a role and the teacher and pupil as teaching/learning process subjects; theoretical conceptions in relation to results of practical assignments.
• Skills: to use knowledge in independent and practical assignments, and making own assignments and presentations in front of the audience; to make a dialogue; to perform and assess using various methods.
• Competence:to be able to use didactical knowledge and skills in various situations in order to promote pupils ability to create new knowledge, skills and competencies and positive interface; to be able to cooperate with the pupils; to be able to perform in various audiences delivering information appropriately; to be able to develop one‘s competence.
