Course abstract

The aim of the course is give the students the necessary insight and knowledge on higher education, study process and study environment at the university and faculty helping to start the studies successfully paying special attention to the development of higher education in the world, Latvia, LUA, development of study programs, organisation of the study process and multiformity of student life, to introduce the students in pedagogical studies un professional bachelor study program “Home Environment in Education”.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge about the nature, levels and models of higher education and studies; LLU, history of the development of the faculty and study program; content of the professional bachelor study program “Home Environment in Education” and the expected results in studies.
• Skills to apply the knowledge acquired in the course to ensure successful process of studies.
• Competence to evaluate the basic principles of the process of studies for starting to study in the chosen study program.
