MatZ3061, Production of Glued Materials
MatZP028 [GMTRP028] Production of Glued Materials I
MatZP029 [GMTRP029] Production of Glued Materials II
Studies of glues used in wood processing industry, properties of the glues, glued jointings and glued materials. Visiting of the Latvian leading wood processing enterprises and analyze of the production technology in these enterprises.
Knowledge about methods of investigation of properties and quality of the wood-based panels, the technologies of production and the basic principles of processing in Latvia glued laminated materials production factories – The 1st report of practice.
Skills to control the quality of wood based panels, from the preparation process investigation of the exploitation group of the panel, compare and evaluate the technology of production of wood based panels - The 2nd report of practice.
Competence to analyze the type of prepared wood based panel, explain the impact of quality interconnection and technological parameters on final products – The 1st and 2nd report of practices.
1.Introduction with glues used for production of wood-based panels, gluing of panels and testing (40 hours).
2.Visit of wood processing enterprises, introduction with technology and production facilities (40 hours)
1.Successfully defended review of practice on gluing of wood materials and glue testing.
2.Successfully defended review of practice of enterprises visits.
In independent work, each student must compile and analyze the results of the practical tests and compile a summary report of practice. On the second part of the practice, each student attends at the enterprises visits of glued wood products, prepares a report of practice. Both above mentioned reports need to be well-matched.
The successful final evaluation of the study course consists of:
1. Report of practical works - 50%
2. Report of enterprises visits - 50%
