Course abstract

Wood advantages are its light processability and applicability of various wooden structures. Some of those designs are furniture items bearing elements in structures, self-supporting structural elements. This course examines the above-mentioned types of wood construction, the establishment of the basic principles, as well as usability.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge about wood as construction material advantages and disadvantages.
• Skills to perform a variety of wood products and product design work, including through the design of the proposed program.
• Competence to find the best, most cost-effective and eco-designed wood product design and performance options.
