Course abstract

Practical Training aims at acquisition of practical knowledge in planning, management and organization of forestry work as well as practical application of economic indicators while making strategic decisions.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Students acquire practical knowledge based on the theoretical knowledge acquired (previously during their studies) on the management, planning and performance of the forestry organization's business processes.
Skills – the students are able to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in a forest industry enterprise.
Competences – the ability to summarize, analyze and evaluate the economic performance and development indicators of companies (organizations, institutions), as well as to make suggestions for improvement.

9. Use, planning and work organization of non-timber forest values. (4h)
10. Forest fire protection, protection and nature protection, planning and work organization. (8h)
11. Decision making process management and document circulation. (4h)
12. Normative regulation in ensuring the operation of the organization. (4h)
13. Provision of human resources and their competencies. (4h)
14. Information systems and its practical applicability. (4h)
15. Economic performance indicators and their practical application. (4h)
16. Summary and evaluation. Practical work (presentation of practice report). (4h)

Requirements for awarding credit points

Students acquire practical knowledge based on the acquired theoretical knowledge. Students are able to use the acquired theoretical knowledge in making strategic decisions. Is competent to analyze forestry performance indicators, making decisions to take the necessary measures. Final rating on a 10-point scale

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Independent work with the management of the overall strategic, tactical and operational processes of the organization, as well as with the results of business operations. Preparation of the practice report in accordance with the methodological instructions of the Forestry Faculty on the development of the final work.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

Practical knowledge acquired by students, which is based on the acquired theoretical knowledge. Students are able to use to acquire theoretical knowledge, make strategic decisions. Is competent to analyze forestry performance indicators, deciding to take the necessary measures. Final rating on a 10-point scale.
