The study course provides knowledge of fundamentals of forest economics and policy, the forest as a capital and its value. Specific forms of silviculture as a business activity in context of the principle of forest management sustainability will be analyzed. Students will get acquainted with the principles of the Forest Policy analysis, with the multi-level politics and European forest policy, as well as with the role of State and public participation in policy process.
• Students will gain extended knowledge about processes of forest economics and policy, policy formation, methods of studies, information processing and use.
• Students obtain skills necessary for practical studies, analysis and using information, connected with the problems of forest economics and policy.
• As a result students will be competent at independently evaluating and analysing theoretical and practical aspects of forest economics and policy as well as integrating knowledge and skills in their further professional career.
