Course abstract

The course aims to provide students with general statistics, mathematical statistics and applied mathematics knowledge and skills, which is needed for other study disciplines, as well as in nutrition education. The course objective is to provide knowledge and methods for students about general statistics, probability theory and mathematical statistics concepts and methods; concepts of correlation, factor and discriminant analysis.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

After completing of study course students will be able to correctly interpret the most important statistical indicators in the speciality, to create and edit databases in Excel and SPSS, to process the measurement results and questionnaire data using computers, to create and edit tables and charts, to manage statistical hypothesis testing, will have competence to evaluate the data analysis and interpret it correctly.
