Course abstract

The aim of the course is to provide knowledge on peculiarities in different periods of woman's life. Several stages of the life of women are discussed within the course and the significance of proper and period specific nutrition is being described. The main gynecological disorders and their treatment, including nutritional recommendations, in different periods of woman's life are discussed. The objective of course is to give knowledge on proper nutrition during pregnancy and lactation, the principles of choosing contraception, impact of hormonal preparations used in gynecology on metabolism

Learning outcomes and their assessment

After completing of study course students will hav:e
• knowledge about nourishment, microelements and vitamins in different periods of woman's life including physiologic changes and diseases;
• skills about the understanding of nutrition peculiarities for woman in different periods of life;
• competence to integrate the knowledge and compose menu for pregnant woman in case of physiologic pregnancy and lactation.
