Course abstract

Studying the course, students acquire the mathematical knowledge and skills needed for the further study of special subjects The course includes matrix algebra, vector algebra, analytical geometry, limit of function, derivative of function, derivative applications, indefinite integrals, definite integrals and its applications, complex numbers, basic first and second ordinary differential equations.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge of elements of linear algebra, vector algebra, analytic geometry, limit of function, derivative of function and applications, indefi
• Skills find the solution of a system of linear equations, solve problems using vectors, recognise and use the standard equation of a straight line, recognize and interpret the equations of an ellipse, hyperbola, parabola, circle, write equations of lines and planes in space, calculate the limits of the functions, use the different rules of differentiation to differentiate functions of one variables, use the derived function to solve different problems, use the different methods of integration to indefinite and definite integrals, calculate a area of plane figures and volume of rotation body, solve the basic ODE.
• Competence of mathematical thinking, of handle symbols and formal mathematics language, of mathematical problem formulating and solving, of reasoning, of modelling, of aids and tools and of communication.
