Course abstract

Studying the course, students acquire the mathematical knowledge and skills needed for the further study of special subjects. The first part of course includes matrix algebra, vector algebra, analytical geometry.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge of elements of linear algebra, vector algebra, analytic geometry;
• skills calculate the determinant, find the solution of a system of linear equations, solve problems using vectors, recognise and use the standard equation of a straight line, recognize and interpret the equations of an ellipse, hyperbola, parabola, circle;
• competence: of mathematical thinking, of handle symbols and formal mathematics language, of mathematical problem formulating and solving, of reasoning, of modeling, of aids and tools and of communication
