Course abstract

The aim of the study course is to acquire the first skills in turning, milling and locksmith work. The basics of metalworking take place in the institute's training workshops and laboratories.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge:
• cutting properties of steel and cast iron;
• cutting tools and their materials. Assessment - practice manager's reference.
Skills to turn, mill, file and solder simple parts. Assessment - practice manager's reference.

Competence: select the cutting mode depending on the material properties. A summary of the practice has been developed and defended. Test with a mark.
