Course abstract

The aim of course is to provide set of practical skills of casting and forging in machinery engineering; processing types and products; Welding process and equipment for electrical, gas and pressure welding, technology and materials: theory of material cutting process; metal cutting machinery, equipment, tools and technology.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge of metal cutting processes and its parameters – Test nr. I and laboratory works; Knowledge of metal cutting machines, cutting tools and metalworking technological processes – Test nr. II and laboratory works; Knowledge of the technological bases of mechanical engineering – Test nr. III.
Skills - capable of evaluating the geometrical parameters of cutters and evaluating the impact of the cutting process on the surface quality - laboratory works.
Competences - it is possible to evaluate the geometrical parameters of the cutters and evaluate the impact of the chip separation process on the quality of the treated workpiece surface. Assessment - laboratory works.
The effect of cutting force on the chip separation process can be assessed - laboratory work. Gear cutting parameters can be calculated and abrasive materials for surface grinding can be selected - laboratory works.
