Course abstract

The aim of the course is to provide a set of theoretical knowledge and practical skills on the classification and accuracy of metalworking machines; machine structure, actuators and actuators; division of machines by actuator, drive and control of machines; CNC machine control bases, coordinate reference systems and datum points; CNC program preparation. Master CAM programming

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge of technological processes, actuators and actuators and drives of metalworking machines. Assessment – test.
Skills to choose the optimal metalworking machines and develop machining programs. Assessment – test.

Competence in selecting the most rational machines and evaluating programs. Assessment - test and laboratory work reports.

1. Classification of metalworking machines and their role in mechanical engineering - 2h.
2. Precision, rigidity and dynamic stability of metalworking machines - 2h.
3. Classification of metalworking machines according to the provided accuracy. Accuracy standards - 2h.
4. Technological task of metalworking machines. Surface forming methods and movement movements - 2h.
5. Test: (Classification of metalworking machines) - 1h.
6. Simple and compound movements. Actuators and their strokes. Metalworking machine program - 2h.
7. Structure of the executive part of metalworking machines. Actuators and their strokes. Classification by executive part - 2h.
8. Single-coordinate and double-coordinate metalworking machines. Analysis of their movements - 1h.
9. Three, four and five coordinate metalworking machines - 1h.
10. Five, six and multi-coordinate metalworking machines - 1h.
11. Test: (Machines on coordinate axes) - 1h.
12. Rotary and directional actuators for metalworking machines. General concepts and requirements - 2h.
13. Drive of metalworking machines. Drive structure, structure and types. Drive power - 2h.
14. Drives for continuous speed control of metalworking machine drives - 1h.

16. Principles of CNC machine control - 2h.
17. G- and M group functions, their choice - 2h.
18. Master CAM program structure - 2h.
