Course abstract

The subject as a scientific discipline includes the theory of general (topical) machine elements (part and units), engineering calculations and design. The subject presents engineering knowledge for creative machine design work. It develops engineering thinking, initiative and creation, teaches to apply the existing ideas and to search for new ones, to modulate using analogues.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge – know calculation methods of different parts and mechanical drives and the procedure of design. Skills – can choose the method for calculation of technical tasks; consult manuals and the standards (ISO, LVS, DIN, EN) for solving practical tasks in design; can choose the technology in production of parts. Competence – are able to modulate tasks in machine science, carry out and supervise research, are knowing, informed and capable machine designers.
