Course abstract

Students obtain knowledge about classification of constructional materials, physical - mechanical properties, structure and application. Obtain alloy and non-ferrous metals properties and application as well as production of casting and metal pressing modification and technology. Learn theoretical processes, equipment and types of welding. Theoretically learn metal cutting machines, equipment, tools and technology.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Competence and understanding in theoretical and empirical research on material science and metal working;
• ability to formulate, critically evaluate the selected metal construction or form of processing advantages and disadvantages and formulate the result of the appropriate conclusion.
• Competence to make practical calculations of metal construction and their costs, as well as knowing the material mark to evaluate the mechanical properties and uses.
