Course abstract

The objective of Course is to give students knowledge in history of development of technical measuring, classification and characteristic of measuring methods as well as measuring instruments, their classification and usage. Students obtain skills in metrological parameters of measuring instruments, measuring errors and the possibilities to eliminate them, basics of measuring instrument choice.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge: the fundamentals of metrology, the regularities of precision of gauges as well as measuring results and determination factors, the fundamentals of measuring methods as well as working principles of gauges;
Skills: to make engineering metrology, to make calibration of gauges as well as evaluation of errors, make the analyses of measuring results;
Competence: Selection and justification of appropriate measuring equipment and method, analysis of errors of gauges and measuring as well as, evaluation of geometric paramete
