Course abstract

The aim of the practice is to strengthen the knowledge, skills and competencies acquired in theoretical studies and to get acquainted with modern agricultural machinery and its use and maintenance technologies: acquiring skills in preparation of machines for its operation; matching machine size for tractor; operating of machines; choice of efficient operating regime; technological adjustment of machines; material – technical supply and providing; planning; calculation of costs; taxes, financing, credits.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge – on issues of agricultural mechanization, technologies and applied machines, machine constructive solutions, operation and control.
• Skills – practical basic knowledge in agricultural and animal breeding mechanisation, technological and technical solutions of the applied machinery.
• Competence – the acquired knowledge and skills give a possibility to know competently the issues of mechanisation, choose the appropriate technologies and machinery for its implementation as well as manage work with the corresponding machinery.

Knowledge, skills and competence are assessed within the framework of the practice review and its defense.

Course Content(Calendar)

1. Organizational structure and operation of the practice company, work safety rules in the company.
2. The company's machinery park, its structure, the structure of the used equipment, technical service equipment and facilities, their structure, operation, operational requirements and regulations.
3. Basic principles of construction and operation of agricultural machinery, performance of their assembly and disassembly works.
4. Maintenance, preparation for work, storage of agricultural machines and vehicles, their elements.
5. Assessment and diagnostics of the technical condition of agricultural machinery and its elements.
6. Equipment maintenance and repair organization in the company, outsourcing.
7. Insight into the company's work organization, work responsibilities planning, distribution and performance.
8. Individual task In-depth performance of a separate aspect in accordance with the instructions of the practice manager.
Total for the fulfillment of point 1-8 - 220 h.
9. Preparation of practice report - 20 h.

Requirements for awarding credit points

1. Work in a place of professional practice, preferably in an agricultural enterprise, in a specific object or in the performance of specific tasks.
2. In-depth, site-specific research on specific production, research, service, administration, industry technology and preparation of a written report. The volume of the report is 15 - 20 A4 format pages. Use Times New Roman 12 pt, 1.5 interval article. It is recommended to illustrate the report with diagrams, graphs, copies of documents and photographs.

3. For the public defense of the internship report, the director of the institute appoints the internship evaluation commission, determines the place and times of the defense. The practice test is assessed with a mark.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

During the internship the student prepares an overview of the internship company and the work done during the internship. The internship report shall include such sections as the general characteristics of the internship company, the scope of activities, the characteristics of the customers, the characteristics of the service facilities and equipment, as well as a detailed overview of the activities performed and lessons learned.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

The internship is evaluated with a mark with a mark according to the completeness and quality of the internship report, feedback from the internship supervisor and according to the interns' presentation of the internship in the form of negotiations.
