Course abstract

It creates of theoretical knowledge to strengthen in practical work the specialty in agriculture enterprises. Collect, systematize and describe collections about different themes in horticulture. Comparison and estimation of methods used in agricultural practice.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Strengthen the knowledge and critical understanding in agronomic issues, theoretical conclusions will be compared with the practical experience and current issues in the farm practice – report
Skills to assess crop status, as well to evaluate the effectiveness of applied technologies in crop production; will be able to manage and organize the agricultural works - development of a growing agrotechnological scheme.

Competences - in cooperation with the farmer to realise the farm agrotechnical measures in the planning, direction and control – practice report presentation an discussion with evaluation commission.

Course Content(Calendar)

15 days - practice in farm or company, during this time period students should make report about following aspects:
1. farm’s description and specialisation;
2. crops` production schemes / plans;
3. characterization of soil;
5. agricultural chemistry;
6. most important harmful organisms;
7. plant protection system;
8. a drainage system;
9.vision of farm development;

10. yield realization and cooperation partners.

Requirements for awarding credit points

Evaluation of practice - timely submission of report on e-studies. Presentation and practice supervisor’s feedback.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Performance of practice program tasks and presentation.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

Criteria for evaluation of practice report: contents' correspondence with requirements, presentation's process and author's ability to answer questions and discuss, compliance of the essay design with regulations of Faculty of Agriculture on the completion and presentation of study papers.
