Course abstract

The aim of the practice is to get acquainted with modern crop and livestock farms and the modern equipment used in them. The internship consists of sections on crop and livestock techniques. In the section of crop production practice, students visit tractors and agricultural machinery sales and service companies in the form of study tours. Students get acquainted with the latest equipment and its application, as well as the organization and practical performance of maintenance. During the internship, students get acquainted with the leading crop production farms, work organization, applied equipment, production problems and farm development plans. In the section of animal husbandry equipment practice, students get acquainted with the latest livestock housing, analyze the location of housing in the general plan in connection with the choice of mechanization means, as well as analyze the efficiency of mechanization means, implementation of specific technological lines

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge of how the equipment trade and maintenance system works, how work in leading farms is organized and forms of farm cooperation with product sales organizations. Knowledge is assessed in the practice report.
Skills to evaluate the information seen and received in practice in equipment distributors and technical service companies and the experience gained in the visited practice farms. Skills is assessed in the practice report.

Competence to evaluate the acquired knowledge and skills and competently apply them in their companies and farms in order to increase their operational efficiency. Competence is assessed in the practice report.

Course Content(Calendar)

1. Visit to crop production equipment trade, service companies and crop specialization farms - 40h. Practice overview.

2. Visit to livestock equipment trade, service companies and livestock farms - 40h. Practice overview.

Requirements for awarding credit points

Test with a mark. An individual internship report must be submitted in advance, which summarizes information about each internship object visited. The test is taken on the last day of the practice in writing by the whole group

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Preparation for the test, using the literature indicated in the study program and consulting with the lecturer of the study course.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

The credit of the study course depends on the attendance of the study course practice objects. A student can obtain a successful assessment of the internship if the attendance of the internship objects is at least 75%.
