Course abstract
In special plant breeding course the objects are different plant species. Master students acquire deepen knowledge of the species genetic characteristics and methods of its selection based on hybridization, mutation, haploidy and polyploidy, heterosis, tissue culture, the newest genetic methods, the direction and goals of breeding. The students are familirized with initial material for breeding, achievements.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
Master students acquire deeper knowledge in breeding of different field crop species.
Master students comprehend choice of breeding methods, scheme, initial material for specific species depending from its biology and breeding goal.
In result, master students are competent to work in breeding of concrete species, select adequate breeding methods and work with him, they are competent to study and discuss scientific and other literature on topics of study course.
