Course abstract

Subject choice and research task determination. Studies of scientific literature. Research hypothesis highlighting. Design of experiments. Planning of resources for a research. Planning of observation in experiments. Research data mathematical processing and a professional interpretation of results. Analysis of variance, correlation and regression. Design of tables, diagrams and charts. Design a study job.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

After completing the course paper students will have:
• knowledge and understanding of agricultural research planning, data processing and interpretation;
• skills to formulate, critically evaluate and coordinate key issues, according to goals and objectives of the study work, choose an appropriate research and data processing methods of particular study, to interpret data results, to formulate conclusions appropriate for results;
• competences in cooperation with advisor to carry out final research paper, to use other research results for discussion.

Is able to successfully develop a course paper and present it.

Course Content(Calendar)

1. Create an input and literature view, 2 h.
2. Job hypothesis, purpose and tasks.
3. Development of a trial scheme.
4. Schedule of trial options and planned observations, 2 h.
5. Design and calculation of pilot resources, 2 h.
6. Calculation and estimation of the statistical characteristics of the sample set.
7. Relevance assessment of experiment results, 2 h.
8. Analysis of the correlation and regression of test results.
9. Conclusions.
10. Bibliography of the scientific literature used. Create references in text.
11. Attachments, drawing them up.

12. Defending the course paper.

Requirements for awarding credit points

Elaboration and defense of the course paper.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Conducts trial planning on the processing of selected topics and data and interpretation of results. The course work shall be drawn up according to the methodological instructions issued at the beginning of the course, using a course job.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

The final grade consists of the grade paper review grade and presentation quality.
