Course abstract

The course work in the animal nutrition about the nutrient requirements for animal. Calculation the ration of animals, the planning the feed of various species, age, productivity of groups of animals to achieve maximum results with minimal production of feed consumption. Analyse of feeding according on the their different live processes - ages, sex, reproductivity and longevity.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

The course work obtain the students with the knowledge of the livestock feeding in practical way. Students will be able to calculate the quantity of feed for animal and feed ration. They will be competent to judge, analyze and argue the animal nutrition and choose the best animal feeding technology. The course paper is written according to the requirements and successfully defended.

1. Requirements for the completion of the course paper, goal setting and tasks for achieving it. Choice of topic.
2. Determination of work structure.
3. Choice of literature and preparation of notes.
4. Preparation of literature justification.
5. Extraction of selected material data.
6. Characterization of the study site.
7. The zootechnical and economic characteristics of the nutrients used in the study animals.
8. Principles of feed intake for study animals.
9. Feed ration analysis.
10. Feed requirement and production planning for study animals.
11. Preparation of a feed production plan for animals of different age and productivity groups.
12. Analysis and economic justification of research results.
13. Drafting conclusions and proposals.
14. Correction and improvement of course work.
15. Preparation and submission of course paper.
16. Presentation and defense of the course paper.

Requirements for awarding credit points

Successful assessment of submitted and defended course paper.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Independently writes the course paper, makes calculations and analyzes them, creates a summary of the studied literature.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

A student can obtain a successful mark on the course paper if the work amount is at least 20 pages A4 format with 40% literature summary (20-25 literature sources). At least one animal feed ration has been drawn up and analyzed. The course paper is written according to the methodological requirements. Prepared presentation and oral defense of work.
