Course abstract

The aim of the study course is to give to the students the knowledge necessary to understand the production requirements for drinking water , the quality control system, as well as to master skills how to determine various quality parameters of drinking water according to ISO standards. The objectives of the study course: to get acquainted with various methods used for drinking water production, quality control systems, water sampling techniques, methods of practical determination of water quality indicators and evaluation with their normative values in accordance to the LR legislation.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

After successful completion of the study course, students will be able to demonstrate academic competences - to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in determining the water quality indicators; and professional competences - students will be able to work independently in the laboratory and to evaluate the properties and usability of different water samples.
