Course abstract

The aim of the 2nd part of the bachelor's thesis is to carry out research work in the field of information technology in order to obtain a professional engineering bachelor's degree in information technologies and the qualification of a programming engineer. During the development process of the bachelor's thesis, the student's theoretical and practical knowledge of the researched question is systematized, strengthened and expanded, which allows to assess the depth and breadth of the student's knowledge, the ability to find and use knowledge sources and information materials, the ability to analyse and critically evaluate the works published by other authors, the ability to choose and apply more suitable methods for the implementation of thesis tasks, clearly present the work results, the ability to formulate conclusions about the research results and present proposals arising from the research, using the knowledge acquired during the studies.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

As a result of the study course students:
• know the methodological rules for the development and defence of a bachelor's thesis, as well as the design rules - a bachelor's thesis;
• are able to justify the topicality of the subject of the bachelor's thesis, formulate research goals and tasks in accordance with the topic, apply research methods that correspond to the set goal of the work - bachelor's thesis;
• are able to identify and summarize the necessary theoretical basis, work with scientific and professional literature, perform information processing, analysis and systematization, perform critical evaluation of works published by other authors for the needs of development of a bachelor's thesis - bachelor's thesis;
• are able to organize and plan their time, as well as to choose appropriate methods for achieving research results - bachelor's thesis;
• are able to communicate professionally, argue and convincingly demonstrate the results related to the development of research, when working individually, in a team or managing the work of other people - bachelor's thesis, pre-defence of bachelor's thesis;
• are able to independently find a solution for a specific task, formulate conclusions, make proposals, publicly defend work results and justify personal opinion, as well as answer questions - bachelor's thesis and pre-defence of bachelor's thesis.

Requirements for awarding credit points

Developed and submitted draft of the bachelor's thesis.
Bachelor’s thesis presented in pre-defence.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

1. The student must independently familiarize himself with the ITF methodological rules for the development and defence of the Bachelor's thesis and ITF methodological rules for the preparation of Course theses, bachelor's theses and master's theses, as well as the calendar schedule for the development of the Bachelor's thesis.
1. The student must independently develop the tasks defined in the bachelor's thesis to achieve the set goal, regularly consulting with the supervisor.
2. The student must prepare a draft of the Bachelor's thesis, which must be prepared in accordance with the ITF methodological rules for the preparation of Course theses, bachelor's theses and master's theses, coordinated with the supervisor and submitted according to the instructions.
3. The student must prepare a presentation of the Bachelor's thesis for the pre-defence.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

Successfully graded (passed) pre-defence of the bachelor's thesis.
Successfully graded (passed) Bachelor's thesis draft.
