Course abstract

The course gives knowledge about information as objects of research in information technology, information units of measure, history of the information processing tools elements of PC, data storage, software, ergonomic, computer virus, computer networks, internet and electronic mail. Students get acquainted with spreadsheet processor MS Excel – use functions, creating charts and work with data base.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge about information processing and computer input devices, output devices and software, the internet and computer network, information security and data protection, as well as spreadsheet use for data processing; skills to be able to define and describe the analytical information, problems and solutions in the field of science, using the learned theoretical and practical framework; competence independent access, select and analyse information and use it to make decisions and solve problems in information technology in the field of science, student knows how to use practical skills for spreadsheet application for data processing.
