Course abstract

The course gives knowledge about information as objects of research in information technology, information units of measure, history of the information processing tools elements of PC, data storage, software, ergonomic, computer virus, computer networks, internet and electronic mail. Students get acquainted with word processing MS Word – teach professional to work with large documents; presentation application MS PowerPoint – produce and formatting a presentation.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge about information processing and computer input devices, output devices and software, the internet and computer network, information security and data protection, as well as the text editor application for the document creation and the presentation creation tool; skills to be able to define and describe the analytical information, problems and solutions in the field of science, using the learned theoretical and practical framework; competences independent access, select and analyse information and use it to make decisions and solve problems in information technology in the field of science, student knows how to use practical skills for word processing, presentation creation tool.
