Course abstract

The study course promotes development of knowledge and skills on the information security and data protection, ergonomics, document formatting.
Students develop understanding on large document formatting.
Students acquire themes on using tabs, formulas writing, creating complex tables and columns, filling forms, use of styles, creating table of contents and table of figures, creating source manager, is needed for course work and study project design and formatting.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge: understand information security and data protection; able to optimize the interaction between human and usable technologies; able to explain the work formatting – lectures.
Skills: analyse and to evaluate relevant information important for practical activities, applying knowledge in order to perform the necessary works – practical works.
Competence: able to assess and use knowledge and skills on large documents formatting – practical works, tests.

Course Content(Calendar)

1. Document formatting, title page creation (Lecture – 1 h, practical work – 1 h).
2. Using tabs with tabs dialog box. Adjusting tab settings (Lecture – 1 h, practical work – 1 h).
3. Creating, formatting and editing complex tables (Practical work – 2 h).
4. Ergonomics, using computer (Lecture – 2 h)
5. Formulas writing using different mathematical structures (Lecture – 1 h, practical work – 1 h).
6. Columns creation (Lecture – 1 h, practical work – 1 h).
7. 1st test about practical works theme (Practical work 1 h).
8. Filling forms (restrict editing, enforcing protection), Google forms (Lecture – 2 h, practical work – 2 h).
9. The use of styles in formatting large documents, modify or create new style. Creating table of contents. Creating figure or table caption (Lecture – 2 h, practical work – 2 h).
10. Thesis design structure (Lecture – 2 h).
11. Creating table of figures. Creating an index lists. Work with sections (Lecture – 1 h, practical work – 2 h).
12. Creating bookmark, bookmarked location. Creating source manager in APA style (Lecture – 1 h, practical work – 2 h).
13. 2nd test about practical works theme (Practical work – 1 h).
14. Test on the topics covered in the lectures (Lecture – 1 h).

Requirements for awarding credit points

To get a test for students:
• 80% lecture attendance;
• successful assessment of the test works;
• all practical works must be passed.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

The assessment of the study course test mark depends on the cumulative evaluation of the test works.
The test mark is the arithmetic mean among a test and test works assessments.
