Course abstract

Students aquire knowledge of hydraulic machinery – pumps, their use and operating experience. The Course deals with pumping water, sewage, agricultural land drying.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge basics on selection of pumps and designing pumping equipment. Technological solution of pumping equipment. Technological solution of pumping stations.
• Skills of hydraulic computations for selection of pumps, to be competent of tender its, select of pipelines, pipe fittings. To select corresponding accsesories and fitment for flow regulation.
• Competence to make independent analysing og information about pumps, to evalutate selected pump, to justify it for request of environmental protections. .

Part-time studies:
All topics indicated for full-time study are implemented, but the number of contact hours is 1/2 of the indicated number

Requirements for awarding credit points

8 practical works and 8 laboratory works must be developed and defended. You must write and get a positive assessment in two tests: 1. Requirements for the selection of centrifugal pumps. Make calculations and choose a pump. 2. Requirements for the construction of pumping stations. Make calculations and provide a diagram of a specific pumping station with the required dimensions.
