Course abstract

Master students acquire knowledge of the philosophy of education and the philosophical problems of pedagogy, their mutual relationships in the contemporary philosophy. The main focus is on the characterization of "homo sapiens": conscionsness, action, culture, the meaning of life, freedom, love and other problems, including the new challenges of the XXI century.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge on philosophical aspects of education in the history of philosophy and pedagogy, on conceptual models of education nowadays.
Skills to analyze and assess different conceptual models of the philosophy of education; skills to substantiate and present one's views.
Competence to make decisions on philosophically sound bases in one's own field of responsibility.
