Course abstract

The history of rhetoric or oratory. Public speech, rhetorical techniques, presentation. Analysis of orator, public and message. The structure of public speech, design of public speech. Techniques and methods of public speaking. Analysis of argumentation. Persuasion techniques. Strategies and tactics of polemics.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge: Students acquire knowledge on rhetoric as art of public speaking and persuasion; knowledge on argumentation and public speech.
Skills: Methods and techniques of public speech, making sound argumentation and use tactics of persuasive speech.
Competence: agency to persuade and negotiate
