Course abstract

Students acquire knowledge of the history and contemporary problems of philosophy, develop skills in analysing philosophical problems as well as skills in group work and communication. In addition to lectures the course includes discussions in seminars and presentations of students' papers.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Learning Outcomes: After completing the course student will have:
Knowledge - of philosophical thought’s historical development;
of the main contemporary philosophical problems;
of world-views.
Skills - in applying philosophical knowledge for understanding historical processes;
in applying philosophical knowledge for understanding the development of the contemporary society;
in philosophical justification of a student’s own world-view.
Competence - to apply philosophical knowledge in solving topical problems, including problems arising in student’s further professional activity.
