Course abstract

The course consists of two parts. Electrical engineering covers basic concepts of direct current, single and three phase alternating current circuits, magnetic circuits, methods of engineer analysis are presented. In laboratory students learn electrical safety; methods of electrical measurement; connecting to the grid, capturing and analyzing operation parameters of electrical devices. Electronic part presents theoretical introduction to analogous and switch-mode electronic devices. In laboratory semiconductor electronic elements, various diodes and transistors are studied.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge – about principles and operation of electrical and electronic equipment;
skills – to connect various electrical devices to the grid, to perform measurement and theoretical calculations of operation parameters of electrical systems;
competence – to know electrical and electronic devices and systems, electrical measurements and calculations.
