Course abstract

The aim of course is, by acquiring theoretical basics and economical regularity as in micro, as in macro economical level, to understand its practical opportunity to use it. The course also facilitates an understanding of efficient use of resources and the conditions of resource’s market. As well as it gives understanding of macro economical relationship and tendencies in Latvia economy.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge – the ability to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of theoretical and practical principles and regularities of micro- and macroeconomics; ability to understand consumer’s and producer’s market behavior motivation; the ability to critically evaluate different views of the Latvian economic situation. Skills – to understand the economic regularities, basic principles of economic systems and action of market mechanism; to plan efficient use of resources according to production capacity in market conditions; to make independent conclusions of the Latvia economic development and growth opportunities. Competence – ability to acquire, filter and analyze economic information that is necessary for the development of conceptual proposals for achieving goals of the economic growth and employment promotion.
