Course abstract

Students become acquainted International and Latvian labour protection and emergences conventions, rules and regulations, labour safety training order, labour environment supervision and inspection,electrosafety,fire safety, emergency situations in Latvia (risk awareness, preventive measures, elemination of consequences),people duties, rights, beheviour and protection in emergency situations,ergonomics as a teaching subject and as its directions ways in the human body work of anthropometry, technological technical aspects of the workplace, work psychology, physiology, hygiene, biorhythms.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

After completing the course student will have:
• Knowledge and critical understanding of the role and place of ergonomic, labour safety and civil protection in the work process of organizations and companies (test).
• Skills of creating a civil protection system in a company instructing of employees at work place and training the employees for safe work methods; adjust the process employed in anthropometry, physical and psychological abilities(practical works).
• Competence of carrying out the indoor work environment monitoringi in cooperation with a labour safety specialist and knowing how to act in emergency situations; make employment selection and assessment of the capacity take decisions on ergonomics practical realization (practical works).

Requirements for awarding credit points

The accumulating assessment shall be received by students who have worked the practice, participated in the workshop sessions and obtained an assessment of not less than 5.0 parties. An assessment shall also be obtained in the form of a test, which shall demonstrate the knowledge and understanding.
