Course abstract

Students acquire horizontal geodetic network formation with triangulation, trilateration and traverse method by performing precise angle and distance measurements; point coordinates determination with global positioning and direct crossings; Class III geometric leveling and trigonometric leveling; small triangulation network and traverse alignment; alignment of the leveling network and individual walk.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

After completing the practice student will have:
• knowledge about geodetic network creating methods, depending on the terrain conditions, network objective and the required precision
• skills execute for the geodetic network creation required precise angles and distance measurements. Work carefully and accurately independently as well as in the group. Draw up measurement documentation according to the requirements.
• competence independently access, select and analyze information what is necessary for the production work estimated tasks accomplishment. Use the information to make appropriate decisions and solve encountered problems. Be able to in good time detect permitted measurement errors, analyze the root causes and find prevention possibilities. Be able to critically evaluate your own knowledge and skills, be able to respond for your own work quality.
