Course abstract

Study course provides knowledge about the measurement errors and accuracy measures. Discussed the principle of least squares method, the measurement dispersion and correlation and regression analysis forms. The adjustment of direct measurements with identical and different precision is viewed. Discussed the equalization of indirect and provision measurements. Is studied the computer software applications in geodetic measurements mathematical processing.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

After completing the course student will have:
• knowledge of geodetic measurement errors and their types, all kind of geodetic network equalization types and methods, as well as computer program use for mathematical processing of geodetic measurements;
• skills to independently perform the evaluation of the resulting task condition, use the acquired solution methods for different types of geodetic tasks, perform the analysis of the obtained results;
• competence to be able to choose the most appropriate traverse or leveling network adjustment method, able to detect the possible measurement errors, perform the evaluation of the results.
