Course abstract

This optional course is devoted to acquiring of knowledge and mastering of skills for use of statistical analysis methods for data processing in engineering experiments. The empirical and theoretical distributions including their indices are analysed, the problems of factor's variation in civil engineering and statistical modeling are discussed, as well as the analysis of correlation, regression models and diagnostics.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge on one-dimensional sample tests including estimation of statistics, about theoretical distributions and evaluation of compatibility, on correlation features and regression models. Skills: for data analysis using computer program tools (MS Excel or SPSS). Competence: to demonstrate an ability for data processing skills and to make a decision on confidence of experimental results regarding significance and confidence of indices
