Course abstract

In the subject of the study, “Acoustics” students acquire knowledge of technical acoustics and vacuum glazing, forecasting noise distribution in buildings and building. Students must learn basic principles for acoustic selection and calculation of equipment, structures and finishes.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

After course studies, the student will have knowledge of sound processes in different environments; skills for vacuum calculations, acoustics, sound insulation and environmental acoustics, respect and application of acoustics documentation; use acoustics terminology assessed by evaluating the practical works submitted

Skills to perform simplified calculations and measurements of sound insulation and room acoustics parameters. Developing practical works and performing measurements.

Competence on the basis of acoustic measurements evaluated in the assessment of the reported measurement protocols and calculations.

12. Building acoustics. The nature of the sound is in construction, noise cards. Urban anti-noise events. Industry news (lecture 1 h)

Requirements for awarding credit points

Self-examination work on the substance of the lectures has been positively evaluated and the results of measurements on noise insulation in the air, the determination of noise noise noise, noise parameters for spaces have been defended.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Calculation of own-initiative works and clarification of exit data. Processing measurements and defending preparations.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

For practical works, the use of formulas, the understanding of the results obtained, is assessed. When defending measurements, a student is evaluated or understood the course of measurements, the course of processing results, and the conclusions reached and their justification. The study course is marked and the overall score is posted as cumulative between defending the assessment of own-initiative works (50%) and the measurement protocol (50%).
