Course abstract
Quality as economical and technical matter. EU and Latvian legislation in area of safety of products and services. Regulation of safety and quality. Main operation principles of conformity assessment: systems and institutions. New approach and Global approach. Principles of standardization. EU Construction products directive and its transposition in Latvia. Quality management in construction enterprise.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
On termination of the course students:
shall demonstrate the knowledge on quality systems, conformity attestation systems, as well as on quality (safety) requirements for construction operations and construction products;
shall have competence to work with relevant data bases and apply the the FIDIC contract conditions;
to be competent to apply Latvian national and European standards, as well as to judge about conformity of construction products.
