Course abstract

Provides knowledge of the main types of construction site processes – concrete works, insulation works, roofing, finishing works: plastering works, glazing, tile and stone finishing works, painting works, as well as flooring. Lectures focus on latest technological techniques that are less addressed in textbooks

Learning outcomes and their assessment

- Knowledge: By completion of the study course students have knowledge about execution of the more extensive construction site processes and knowledge for drafting of the management plan of construction site processes. The knowledge is evaluated by test. - Skills: Students are able to select appropriate execution methods of construction operations corresponding to construction site situation as well as to draw up an execution documents. Skills are evaluated by test. - Competence: Be competent to choose appropriate technical means for execution of works. Competence is assessed in test.

1. Complex of concreting works. Types of jobs. Preparation of moulds. Arrangement of reinforcement
2. Production of the concrete mixture. Transport of concrete mix. Concreting of structures
3. Processing of concreting in winter time. Processing of stressed concrete structures
4. Methods of underwater concreting. Quality control of concreting works
5. Insulation works. Installation of hydroinsulation
6. Installation of thermal insulation and sound insulation
7. Anticorrosive protection of structures. Airtighting of structures
8. Performing of roofing. Installation of roof coverings of bituminous materials
9. Performing of roofing. Installation of roof coverings of single articles
10. Performing of roofing. Installation of roof coverings of traditional articles
11. Safety requirements for roofing work. Quality control of roofing works
12. Finishing works — Safety requirements for finishing works. Glassware works
13. Finishing works – tiling and decoration jobs
14. Performance of plastering works
15. Painting and dyeing works
16. Industry news. Installation of floors

Requirements for awarding credit points

For successful completion of the study course student has to pas oral test.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Students independently acquire knowledge by studying of technical literature to prepare for test
