Course abstract

Objective of the study course is to provide knowledge of the basic principles of construction production process, the technological documentation of construction works and the procedures for drawing up such works, knowledge of the types of works - preparatory works, transport works, ground works, drilling, blasting, piling and masonry works of the construction site, as well as the basic principles of the technical and tariff setting of works and the basic works; technological design.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• By finishing the first part of the course, students must have knowledge of the basic principles of the most important technology for carrying out works.
• Skills: Student should be able to develop a calculation of the working capacity of the simplest construction jobs. Skills are assessed on the basis of an individual task – the development of a simple construction capacity calculation.
• Competence: the regulatory framework for construction production. Competence is assessed on the basis of an individual task - calculation of the labour capacity of the simple building.

Requirements for awarding credit points

By successful completion of the first part of the study course student gets a check mark with rating. To obtain a check the student must complete a labour consumption calculation for small construction work.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Students independently acquire knowledge by studying of technical literature and by performing of the individual task of labour consumption calculation

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

The assessment is based on the quality of the developed individual task of labour consumption
