Course abstract

Subject gives review in accessible computer programs as applied to solving complicated and labour-consuming mathematical problems, makes familiar with general characterization of Excel and Mathcad program, its application to engineer calculations, formating of text, making of graphics and numerical materials and, finally, practical analysis of examples. Using MS Excel, MathCAD helps to prepare for further work with BIM software.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledges about applied computer programms in design of building structures; skills to use preliminary knowledges from strength of materials, building mechanics for making the aim and algorithms; competences to solve the comlicated design problems by automation of calculations and analysis of results. Assessment is given on the basis of indiviual work presentation and competent conversation about theme.
