Students obtain knowledge about widely used building materials and construction products, knowledge regarding their performance characteristics and use of in construction process. Theoretical knowledge is improved during the practical classes by solving some practical examples, as well in laboratory classes, where students are being acquainted with the performance characteristics of most often used building materials and their testing methods. In lectures the main theoretical course is given with the emphasis to new products. For general issues students are guided to textbooks.
By termination of this study course students shall know the performance characteristics of the main construction products, their testing methods and application in construction process, to select optimal construction products for common used construction works, as well as they will be competent to analyze the test reports and adequacy of materials for application in construction works.
