Course abstract

The course covers the design of buildings (architectural and structural solutions), taking into account the development of the building plan and facade design (nodes + energy efficiency, load-bearing structures, floors). Private and public building.
For a public building - appreciation of the technological flow.
Building shed, define proper space insolation.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

1. Knowledge of constructive linking of buildings with functionally aesthetic criteria of a building. Ability to find context between solutions of energy efficiency nodes of buildings and architecturally visual quality. Building on the plot, sunlight for functionally different rooms. - Clause 1.
2. Knowledge of building coverings (wooden structures, reinforced concrete structures) and structural solutions of the roof (glued roofs, pitched roofs). Ability to design a floor step. Roof wooden structural assemblies (drawbars, struts, gutter, recline). - Clause 2;
3. Competence to evaluate and justify the criteria of visually high aesthetic quality of exterior and interior - interior-garden / park through glass. Terraces, verandas, bay windows, balconies, loggias - heights and lengths of view lines. Integration of building structures in interiors. Visualizations. - Test.

Requirements for awarding credit points

Test with a mark.
Attendance of classes is at least 85%. prepared, submitted and positively evaluated independent works. Successfully passed keyboards and test. Projects submitted after the deadline (if there is no valid reason) will be reduced by 1 point.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

1. Building plan according to the given task (area, functional significance).
2.Location of premises, taking into account their insolation. Regulatory requirements.
3. Solutions of structural construction of buildings. Foundations, floors, solutions for energy efficiency nodes.
4. Exterior and interior context searches through glass.
5.Creating visualizations, creating information on the architectural image of the building and the main details of the interior.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

The evaluation of the study course depends on the evaluation of the independent work.
