Course Content(Calendar)

1. Introduction to the presentation of landscape studies, their importance and role.
2. Research directions of the landscape architecture industry.
3. Research methods of landscape architecture industry, their advantages and relation with scale and function of the landscape.
4. Practical use of the results of landscape research. 1.practical work
5. Cultural and historical studies of landscapes – archival data, their use.
6. Social studies of landscape, methods.
7. Field studies of landscape, methods.
8. Interpretation and use of the results of landscape research. 2.practical work
9. Presentation of the research – various field studies, types of presentations and applied methods and materials.
10. Brainstorming most effective models. Intense group discussion. 1.seminar
11. Theoretical review of presentation technology. Verbal and non – verbal communicatin.
12. Written communication. Use of proper terms in landscape architecture. 3.practical work

Requirements for awarding credit points

Class visiting should be at least 75%. Assessment works have to be done in time. Works, that are handed in later (if there is no justified reason), evaluation is lowered by one mark. To pass the study course, study work assessments have to be positive.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

1.practical work – define the direction of the research according to the chosen research theme, suitable research methods, and to define the practical use of the research. (amount at least 3 pages, submitted electronically).
2.practical work – research and analysis of archive materials, exploration of other sources of information and research, compilation of materials. (at least 20 pages, submitted electronically).
3. practical work – compilation of terms used, preparation of written study justification. Design of literature reference. Definition of research results. (amount at least 30 pages, submitted electronically).
4.practical work– a presentation of the methods used by the research, the course of the research and the results has been prepared. (volume at least 20 slides, submitted electronically).
1.seminar – work in groups – scientific discussion, ways of communication. (discusses seminar results in format of discussion).
2.seminar – rehearsal speech attempt. Everyone prepares a speech about their research topic. (discusses seminar results in format of discussion).

3.seminar – presentation at the Scientific conference of Landscape Architecture students with a report on their research topic. (prepared presentation - at least 25 slides, printed study research at least 30 pages)

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

The assessment of the study course exam depends on the final defense at the scientific conference.
Admission to the examination defense only after successful submission of practical works on time.
