Course abstract

Students learn drawing techniques and materials to be used in more detail. Drawing techniques are significant not only for overall representation of landscape, but also for fixing of individual elements in the current situation, as well as for reflection of the landscape and design elements.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge: enriched knowledge of drawing techniques. 1 exhibition.
• Skills: to reflect a landscape using different drawing techniques. 2 exhibition.

• Competence: combine drawing techniques and determine the most suitable for the specific aim. 3 exhibition.

Course Content(Calendar)

1. Architectural detail construction. Simple decorative element construction.(2 h)
2. Architectural detail spatial display. Simple decorative element shadowing.(2 h)
3. Complex display of architectural element. Compound architectural element construction.(2 h)
4. Complex architectural detail spatial display. Compound architectural element shadowing. 1 exhibition.(2 h)
5. Basic principles of nature territory display. Landscape drawing construction.(2 h)
6. Nature territory spatial display. Landscape drawing shadowing.(2 h)
7. Landscape painting basics. Landscape drawing.(2 h)
8. Relief of landscape display. Modelling of landscape relief. (2 h)
9. Nature element in landscape display. Landscape relief and element modelling.(2 h)
10. Methods of different nature territory display. Forest landscape display. Road landscape display. Landscape painting. 2 exhibition.(2 h)
11. Complex display of difficult architectural element. Difficult decorative drawing construction.(2 h)
12. Spatial display of difficult architectural element. Difficult decorative drawing shadowing.(2 h)
13. Construction of simple capital drawing.(2 h)
14. Construction of simple capital shadowing.(2 h)
15. Architectural element in landscape display. Construction of decorated capital drawing.(2 h)
16. Architectural element in landscape detailed display. Shadowing of decorated capital drawing. 3 exhibition.(2 h)

Requirements for awarding credit points

Attendance at classes not less than 75%. Works submitted after the specified time (unless there is a justifiable reason) will have their grade reduced in accordance with the assessment rules approved by the institute. Drawings must be submitted and presented at the specified time, sketches must be presented on the topic specified in each lesson.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Students are doing practical works in practical lessons and independently. Each student have to develop following practical works, which are evaluated during exhibition:
1 exhibition: firs decor drawing; second decor drawing.
2 exhibition: landscape drawing; landscape painting; model of landscape relief.
3 exhibition: drawing of difficult decor; simple capital drawing, decorated capital drawing.

Five A5 format sketches each week on given topic.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

Drawings must meet the criteria set by teachers. Sketches must correspond to a specified theme

Compulsory course in full-time studies of MVZF study program "Landscape Architecture and Planning" (Bachelor). The study course is also taught in English.
